Lesson #3

Art History Inspiration: "Washington Crossing the Delaware"
Materials Needed:
Paper, pencil, eraser, colored pencils, crayons or watercolors, optional: pen to outline
Watch this 3 minute video about the painting “Washington Crossing the Delaware” by Emanuel Leutz.
Task
Create a picture about an important moment in your life. Include these details. Try not to use words - only pictures.
- Who was there?
- Where were you?
- What time of day was it? What was the weather like?
- What was in the foreground/middle ground/background?
- Can you add a special ‘hidden symbol’ somewhere in the picture that is important to the event (like Emanuel Leutz’s Morning Star?)
OPTIONAL
Post a picture of your creation down below in the comments section! I’d LOVE to see it :).
