FOLK ART is traditional art passed down through many generations in a culture. Every culture has folk art!

FOLK ART is often UTILITARIAN (a fancy word that means useful). Here are some examples & a video that shows FOLK ART around the world:

Paper

Pencil or Black Pen

Colors (Crayons, Colored Pencils, etc.)

Watch the video and follow along! Add LOTS of line designs to your artwork! :)

Lesson #2 - Grades 3-5 - FOLK ART Trees

Materials

White paper (thicker if you have it)

Black Permanent Marker (or any color you have)

Watercolor Paints and Paintbrush

Task

Watch this video and follow along. Mrs. Patty mentions needing a print-out of the tree examples, but you can just pause the video on the handout and look at it!
